Gurtin Municipal Bond Management Named to 2018 Financial Times’ 300 Top RIAs List
Municipal manager recognized for exceptional performance
SAN DIEGO (June 28, 2018) — Gurtin Municipal Bond Management (Gurtin), a firm specializing in high-grade municipal bond portfolios, was again recognized in the Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers (FT 300). Investors rely on the annual list to identify the nation’s foremost independent registered investment adviser (RIA) firms across the United States, based on their performance across several categories.
This year’s independently produced FT 300 marks the fifth annual release of the list, which is based on data gathered from RIA firms, regulatory disclosures, and the FT’s research. To be considered, advisors needed to be independent and manage at least $300 million in assets as of December 31, 2017, with no more than 75 percent of institutional AUM. Inclusion in the 2018 FT 300 was based on selected firms’ performance in the following six areas: assets under management (AUM), AUM growth, years of experience, industry certifications, online accessibility, and compliance record.
“We’re honored that the Financial Times has again recognized our firm as part of the FT 300. When we became an independent RIA in 2008, our initial goal was to partner with advisors and family offices across the country to provide high net-worth individuals with a truly differentiated municipal investing experience, and the FT distinction is a testament to this commitment,” said founder and CEO, Bill Gurtin. “We’ve never lost sight of that goal over the years, building an expert team and proprietary technology to support our continued growth. In appreciation of our clients’ loyalty, we remain committed to continuing to raise the bar in the management of their municipal bond portfolios.”

Neither the firm nor any employees paid a fee to be considered for, or awarded, a place on the FT 300. More than 760 firms were considered for inclusion on this year’s report. Third-party awards and recognition do not guarantee future success. Working with a highly rated advisor does not ensure that a client or prospective client will experience a higher level of performance. Ratings should not be considered an endorsement of the advisor by a client nor are they representative of any one client’s experience.
